Terms & Conditions of Training

These Terms & Conditions apply to all First Aid courses, assessments, practical skills sessions and training programmes delivered by the Malta Red Cross Society.

By booking a course, participants confirm that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

For information on how we process personal data, please refer to our Participant Privacy Notice.

Bookings are confirmed only after:

  • completion of the booking process;
  • successful payment (where applicable);
  • email validation or verification (where required).

Malta Red Cross reserves the right not to confirm a booking where required information, validation or payment has not been completed.

Participants must be at least 14 years of age unless otherwise specified for a particular course.

Malta Red Cross reserves the right to refuse admission where eligibility requirements are not met.

Course fees must be paid in accordance with the booking instructions.

Certificates will only be issued once all applicable fees have been paid in full.

Participants must attend at least 80% of the course in order to remain eligible for certification.

Participants who arrive excessively late, leave early or fail to attend required course components may become ineligible for certification.

Attendance is recorded by the instructor and Malta Red Cross reserves the right to determine whether attendance requirements have been met.

Where applicable, participants must successfully complete all required practical, written or online assessments.

Failure to meet the required standard may result in reassessment, additional training requirements or certification being withheld.

Certificates are issued only when:

  • attendance requirements have been met;
  • assessments have been successfully completed;
  • payment obligations have been fulfilled;
  • participant details have been verified.

Booking a course or making payment alone does not guarantee certification.

A fee of €5 applies to amendments requested after booking confirmation unless the amendment is required due to an administrative error by Malta Red Cross.

Amendments may include corrections to participant details, session information or certification information.

Participants who are unable to attend should notify Malta Red Cross as early as possible.

The following arrangements apply:

  • 15 calendar days or more before the course: rebooking may be allowed without charge.
  • Less than 15 calendar days before the course: a rebooking fee of 50% may apply.
  • Failure to attend without prior notice (No-Show): the booking is deemed used and the full course fee applies.

A no-show occurs when a participant fails to attend a booked course or session without informing Malta Red Cross in advance.

Participants are expected to arrive on time.

Participants arriving late may be refused admission where essential course content, safety information or assessment requirements have already been missed.

Participants arriving more than one hour after the scheduled start time will normally not be admitted to the course.

Where admission is refused due to lateness, rebooking fees may apply.

For group, corporate, workplace or school bookings, the client organisation remains responsible for ensuring participant attendance.

Approved substitutions may be permitted before the course, subject to operational requirements and the submission of participant details.

Malta Red Cross reserves the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule a course due to operational requirements, insufficient enrolment, instructor unavailability, venue issues, health and safety concerns or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Where reasonably possible, affected participants will be offered an alternative arrangement.

Participants must follow all instructions provided by instructors and Malta Red Cross representatives.

Malta Red Cross reserves the right to refuse admission to, or remove, any participant whose behaviour compromises safety, disrupts course delivery or prevents the achievement of learning outcomes.

Malta Red Cross may consider exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness, bereavement or emergencies, on a case-by-case basis.

Supporting documentation may be requested.

Any decision to waive fees or vary these Terms & Conditions remains at the discretion of Malta Red Cross.

All personal data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, GDPR requirements and Malta Red Cross internal policies.
